Americans Eating Twice the Amount of Butter than Margerine

Americans are once again embracing butter in all of its deliciousness. The average American today eats nearly 23 sticks of butter a year, which pulls butter ahead of margarine for the third year in a row.
The revival of butter comes with a growing backlash against processed foods, and new research suggesting that fat is not so bad after all. Still, butter consumption today is low compared to the 1920s, when the average American ate about 72 sticks a year.
