An Hour of Exercise Makes up a Day of Sitting

Add another study to the growing list of those that show sitting is bad for us, with new research on heart health from UT Southwestern Medical Center showing that sitting was linked to lower heart fitness. The good news, however, was that it also found that since exercise has a more powerful effect in helping the heart than sitting does in harming it, one hour of exercise can counteract the effects of sitting for six to seven hours a day.
