Dinosaurs Evolved into Birds
by Meg Duley,posted Aug 1 2014 4:02AM
Scientists have been able to detail how a class of dinosaurs called theropods evolved into birds by comparing the fossils of 120 different species. The two-legged, meat-eating dinosaurs got continually smaller relatively quickly, getting more feathery with larger chests until they evolved into the earliest version of birds. Study author Michael S. Y. Lee of the University of Adelaide in Australia said, "They just kept on shrinking and shrinking and shrinking for about 50 million years."
