What...? There's only two days left in June?? I swear I just finished shoveling my driveway!
Anyways, the Fourth of July falls on a Saturday this year, so that means for many of us... THREE DAY WEEKEND! AAA estimates that 41.9 million people will travel 50 miles or more from home during the holiday weekend, which is an increase of 0.7 percent from last year, and the most since 2007.
As per usual, most travelers will getaway by car (85%), which is understandable considering that gas costs an average of $2.78 per gallon, which is 88 cents lower than the same time last year. AAA estimates that the reason why so many people are hitting the road this year is due to the better economy and lower fuel costs.
