Most Prenups Now Have Social Media Clauses
Are you married? If so, there's a chance you signed a prenuptial agreement before tying the knot.
There's now a new trend in prenups-- a social media clause. This clause addresses what's acceptable for the couple to share online about each other, and can come with serious consequences if ignored.
Attorney Ann-Margaret Carrozza says, "This is relatively new. It's a huge issue because we all know this stuff, once it's out there, you can't shake it. It can be humiliating. It can be painful...I expect this clause to become much more important..." Carrozza says a typical social media clause will forbid those signing the prenup from posting nude photos, embarrassing photos or photos or posts that are likely to harm a spouse's professional reputation. Those who disobey the social media clause can expect to pay up to 50 thousand dollars for one inappropriate tweet.
