Oscar winning comedian and actor Robin Williams died on Monday (August 10th) from an apparent suicide. He was 63. According to TMZ, the Marin County Sheriff's Office found his body inside of his home where he was unconscious and not breathing. He was pronounced dead on at 12:02 p.m.
Robin's publicist released a statement saying, "Robin Williams passed away this morning. He has been battling severe depression of late. This is a tragic and sudden loss. The family respectfully asks for their privacy as they grieve during this very difficult time."
- His wife, Susan Schneider, later broke her silence saying, "This morning, I lost my husband and my best friend, while the world lost one of its most beloved artists and beautiful human beings. I am utterly heartbroken. On behalf of Robin’s family, we are asking for privacy during our time of profound grief. As he is remembered, it is our hope the focus will not be on Robin's death, but on the countless moments of joy and laughter he gave to millions."
- An autopsy is scheduled to take place on Tuesday (August 12th).
- A press conference will also be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m.
