Red Wine Improves Memory
by Meg Duley,posted Jun 10 2014 6:44AM
Drink that glass of red wine tonight guilt free, new research finds it may be helping improve your memory.
A new study reveals that a compound called resveratrol, which is found in red wine and dark chocolate, can improve short-term memory and create more connections among brain areas involved in memory.
Previous research has found the compound may have anti-aging effects. Veronica Witte, a neuroscientist involved with the study says this is an important discovery and it should now be evaluated in large-scale clinical trials. Resveratrol can also be found in peanuts, blueberries and Japanese knotweed.
