America is now the THIRD fattest nation in the world.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released a study about the average weight of its citizens and found American women have gotten progressively heavier in the past 50 years. The new study reveals the average American woman weighs 166.2 pounds, just one tenth of a pound less than the average American man weighed (166.3) in the 1960s.
Over the same 50 year period, American men gained an average of 30 pounds, bringing them to 195.5 pounds. Both men and women gained an inch of height over the same time period. It's thought that three factors contribute to the weight gain: the increased consumption of unhealthy food, larger portions of it, and less exercise.
The findings mean Americans are the third heaviest people in the world, only coming in behind the island nations of Tonga and Micronesia in the Pacific.

Life for kids today sure is different than it was 20 years ago.
Experts say there's a terrible rise in kids from very well-off families displaying side-effects of poor diets and malnutrition. They say the source of this is due to their parents cutting out major food groups such as dairy, and foods containing gluten due to fears about allergies.
Symptoms of malnutrition include being underweight, poor concentration, depression and feeling tired all the time. Paul Seddon, a consultant pediatric allergist in the U.K. says, "I commonly see children who have been put on necessarily restricted diets because their parents assume, in good faith, that they have allergies to multiple foods on the basis of 'allergy tests' which have no scientific basis."
Tracey Brown, director of the charity Sense about Science saysthe problem with this is that it's leading genuine allergy sufferers to not be taken seriously because their dietary intolerance is now seen as widespread and therefore not as serious.

Vince Vaughn is making headlines for his British GQ interview. He completely supports having guns in schools.
Here's the quote: "You think the politicians that run my country and your country don't have guns in the schools their kids go to? They do. I support people having a gun in public full stop, not just in your home. We don't have the right to bear arms because of burglars; we have the right to bear arms to resist the supreme power of a corrupt and abusive government. [...] Banning guns is like banning forks in an attempt to stop making people fat. Taking away guns, taking away drugs, the booze, it won't rid the world of criminality. In all of our schools it is illegal to have guns on campus, so again and again these guys go and shoot up these f***ing schools because they know there are no guns there. They are monsters killing six-year-olds."
