New research finds that there are actually big differences between the two types of people. To find this, researchers surveyed 600 people.
They found that cat lovers tended to be more open-minded, sensitive and non-conformist than the dog-lovers. Dog people were found to be more outgoing and inclined to follow rules.
Researchers say that the requirements for caring for the respective creatures may play a role, as dogs need walks out in public and cats will allow one curl up with a book inside. About 60% of people said they were dog people, 11% identified as cat people, and the rest said they were both or neither.
