Yoga Makes You a Quicker and Better Thinker

Namaste!  Have you ever tried Yoga? You may want to-- a new study reveals practicing yoga consistently for eight weeks is likely to make you think faster and better. Researchers looked at 100 adults between ages 55 and 79. Some participants practiced yoga over the eight week study, while others simply did stretching and toning exercises. When controlling for factors like age and gender, the findings concluded that practicing yoga lead to improved brain functioning, while the other exercise did not.

Study co-author Edward McAuley says, "Participants in the yoga intervention group showed significant improvements in working memory capacity... They were also able to perform the task at hand quickly and accurately, without getting distracted. These mental functions are relevant to our everyday functioning, as we multitask and plan our day-to-day activities."
